Our Students

The School teaches to a large community of language(s), literature(s), culture(s) and linguistics students from a broad range of UCD programmes, including BA, BAIML, BCIT and BCL (Maîtrise) and it aspires to expand research at an internationally recognised level. Our undergraduate students typically spend three or four years with us, during which time they inspire us with their intellectual energy, while gaining an impressive grounding in their chosen subjects.

SLCL postgraduate students study on one of our two taught MA programmes (MA in Modern Languages; MA in Linguistics & Applied Linguistics) and register with a supervisor for the (2-year) M.Litt. or (4-year structured) PhD programmes.
