Dr Sabine Strumper-Krobb

Sabine Strümper-Krobb is lecturer in German at UCD, Dublin. She obtained her PhD from Georg-August-Universität, Göttingen, where she was involved in the initial phase of the special research institute for Literary Translation Studies, and has been teaching in UCD since 1993. Her research focuses on Translations Studies, German modernism and German-Scandinavian Literary Relations. She is author of two monographs Impressionistische Erzählverfahren im Spiegel der Übersetzung. Zu deutschen Übersetzungen von Prosawerken Jens Peter Jacobsens zwischen 1877 und 1912, (Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht: 1997), and Zwischen den Welten. Die Sichtbarkeit des Übersetzers ind der Ltieratur, Weidler, 2009), and has co-edited volumes on Literaturvermittlung um 1900. Fallstudien zu Wegen ins deutschsprachige kulturelle System (Rodopi, 2001), Sentimente, Gefühle, Empfindungen. Zur Geschichte und Literatur des Affektiven von 1770 bis heute (Königshausen & Neumann: 2003), and Crossing Borders. Space Beyond Disciplines (Peter Lang, 2011). She is also the co-editor of the Germanistik in Ireland Yearbook, and published articles on various aspects of translation studies and on German and Scandinavian literature. She teaches language, literature and translation on all levels of the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
