Dr Manfa Sanogo

Mentor: Professor Mary Gallagher

Dr. Manfa Sanogo is an IRC fellow based at UCD. Dr. Sanogo situates his research at the intersection of literary history, cultural studies, and postcolonial studies. His current book project traces the influence of autochthonous literatures from the Indian Ocean (especially Madagascar) on the literary trends in the French canon. His other academic interests include postcolonial ecocriticism, West African literature and the religiousness of soccer as a profane ritual.

He is the author of the upcoming article “The African Maid’s Tale” in the journal Romance Notes. Dr Sanogo received his PhD from Florida State University.
